Princess Doe Case Timeline |
July 15, 1982 - The unidentified body of a young girl is found on the southeast side of the Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Blairstown, New Jersey. January 22, 1983 - The still unidentified victim (now known as "Princess Doe") is laid to rest in a grave not far from the location where her body was originally discovered at the Cedar Ridge Cemetery. April 1983 - HBO airs a special about unidentified human remains and the show features the Princess Doe case. June 30, 1983 - Princess Doe becomes the first Unidentified Person case entered into the NCIC computer database by FBI Director, William H. Webster. July 16, 1983 - Frank Bender unveils a lifelike bust of Princess Doe based on his interpretation of the remains. September 22, 1999 - The body of Princess Doe is exhumed from the Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Blairstown so that DNA samples can be taken. The body is re-buried in the same location. July 15th, 2007 - A memorial service was held for Princess Doe at noon on July 15th, 2007. Nearly 100 people attended the service. 25 years later, Princess Doe still has no name but is remembered by all. July 15, 2012 - Over 100 people attended a memorial service at the Cedar Ridge Cemetery to honor Princess Doe on the 30th anniversary of her discovery. June, 2017 - Nearly 35 years later, the body of Princess Doe has yet to be identified and no arrests have been made in connection with her brutal murder. The case remains open and active. |
